Limitations

Two years of history is a short test. The settings were chosen on 2024-09-01 to 2025-09-01 and checked on 2025-09-01 to 2026-09-01, which the EA had no part in selecting; that second year made +2510.40 across 103 trades. It is tuned to USDCAD on H4 and should not be assumed to transfer to other markets or timeframes without testing. Past results do not predict future results.

How it works

# PipFix Std Dev Break

a move larger than recent volatility has been producing

Tested on USDCAD H4, 2024-09-01 to 2026-09-01, on a 10,000 account risking 1% per
trade with real spread. 192 closed trades, profit factor 1.37, maximum
drawdown 13.50%.

The second half of that window was never used to choose the settings. It made
+2,510.40 on its own across 103 trades, which is the only part of the
result worth much.

## Install

1. Open MetaTrader 5 and choose File > Open Data Folder.
2. Copy `ea.ex5` into `MQL5\Experts` and rename it if you like.
3. Copy the `.set` file into `MQL5\Presets`.
4. Restart MetaTrader 5, or right-click Expert Advisors in the Navigator and
choose Refresh.
5. Open a USDCAD chart on H4, drag the EA on, and load the `.set` file from
the Inputs tab.
6. Enable Algo Trading.

## What it does and does not do

No martingale. No grid. It never adds to a losing position, holds one position
at a time, and every trade carries a real stop loss.

It was tuned on one year and checked on the next. Two years is a short test and
a backtest is not a promise - run it on a demo account before it sees real
money.
